This course is intended for adults who have no or little background/knowledge in Chinese Mandarin. The goal of this course is to provide students with fundamental skills in listening and speaking Mandarin, reading and writing (Hanyu) Pinyin (the Chinese simple phonetic system), and to achieve basic Mandarin skills through a vast amount of practice. Useful expressions as well as basic grammatical rules and background information on China's history, culture and society are also introduced throughout the class.

This course is for adults who are interested in continuing to effectively improve their ability to communicate in Mandarin and to master(Hanyu) Pinyin after attaining the basic pronunciation and conversational skills. Emphasis is placed on expanding the basic knowledge of Mandarin through oral comprehension and conversational methods combined with some indispensable aspects in reading, writing and grammar.

Date:           Starting Sunday September 12th from 4:45 to 6:15 pm, 1.5 hours per class, for 8 Sundays (total 12 hours). (to be confirmed)

Location:      Markham & Ellesmere in Scarborough

We recommend you complete Level One and Level Two Courses before you enroll in Level Three if you have not taken Mandarin course before. At this level you will consolidate what you have learned in the previous levels and continue to learn 8 more lessons. Upon completing this level, you should have learned most of topics of daily life. You should be able to communicate in Mandarin in a wide range of topics without relying an interpreter while you live and work in China.
